Ethan Goldberg, craftsman and owner of Artisan Woodworks Studio in Brooklyn Heights, has spent 11 years building custom furniture and home décor pieces. Goldberg’s studio specializes in handcrafted woodwork, including tables, cabinets, shelving, and artistic installations.
Artisan Woodworks Studio emphasizes traditional techniques combined with contemporary design. Goldberg works closely with clients to create bespoke pieces that reflect their personal style and the architectural character of their homes or offices.
Over the years, the studio has grown from a one-person workshop into a team of 10 skilled artisans, many trained as apprentices under Goldberg’s guidance. This growth reflects both demand for custom craftsmanship and Goldberg’s commitment to preserving traditional woodworking skills.
Goldberg also teaches woodworking classes and community workshops, inspiring youth and adults to learn the craft. “Being a New Yorker is about resilience and creating beauty in every space,” he notes.
Challenges include rising material costs, competition from mass-produced furniture, and managing custom timelines. Goldberg mitigates these by emphasizing quality, customer relationships, and transparent communication throughout each project.
Plans for expansion include larger workshop space, additional community classes, and partnerships with interior designers and local businesses to showcase Brooklyn-made craftsmanship.
